I obtained my Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Oregon in 1998. I have a strong background in sports medicine and biomechanics with a multidisciplinary specialization in lumbar spine stabilization and dysfunction.
My national certifications include: Clinical Exercise Specialist and Health Fitness Specialist by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), Personal Strength Trainer by the American Council of Exercise, USA Triathlon Level II Expert Coach, USA Cycling Coach and a Computrainer Coach. I have over 20 years of experience teaching weight training and strength conditioning and specialize in designing effective exercise programs for all athletes.
I'm now 49 years old living in the Hudson Valley but traveling around the states to race. My racing includes both short-course and long-course triathlons, Xterra off-road triathlons, short-course and ultra-distance mountain bike racing. I'm a 2-time IronMan finisher (Florida and Lake Placid) and have successfully competed in and placed in races such as the SOS (Survival of the Shawangunks), Xterra National and World Championships, and Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon.

Other Accomplishments
Before I was involved with triathlon, I used to spend quite a bit of my time rock climbing around the states and doing high altitude mountaineering. I’ve successfully climbed Denali in Alaska, Huana Potosi in Bolivia, Mount Rainier in Washington and numerous other peaks in the Cascades and South America. I’ve even had the unique experience of mountain biking across Costa Rica via the Ruta de Conquistadores.
